The aim of the work of Linda Barnes is to express our universal humanity and emotions through an exploration of the human face and figure. This particular "portrait of the psyche" has as it's subject, a girl living in the same Hong Kong highrise as the artist. Linda has combined subtle colour with confident brushwork to convey through paint, the complexity of the subject's expression.
With an extensive background in the creative industries, Linda Barnes is now focusing on her art. She has exhibited in many group shows in New Zealand, and while living in Hong Kong has been a finalist in the Hong Kong Human Rights Art Award (2013). Her current painting series expresses universal emotions through depiction of the face and the figure in motion.
